Flock is joined to a substrate by a layer of adhesive. Using the correct adhesive is essential to ensuring a quality flocked finish. When choosing the adhesive to use, you must consider the material of the substrate that you will be flocking onto and the desired characteristics of the ultimate flocked product. Desired characteristics might include being solvent resistant, washable, rigid or flexible, pigmented or flame retardant. The means by which the adhesive cures and the length of open time you require should also be taken into consideration. When flocking electro-statically, the adhesive will also need to have a certain amount of conductivity inherent to it.
There are many methods for applying adhesives such as brushing, spraying, dipping and silk-screen. In order to facilitate the application method preferred, it is possible to thin down the adhesives that we offer using either water or acetone.
We offer a wide range of adhesives to suit all purposes some of which are described below, if you require available in a range of sizes with sufficient conductivity.
